William Branham's Message Cult
The Message of William Branham is a global high-control religious movement built around the sermons, prophecies, and supernatural claims of the healing evangelist William Branham, whose followers view him as the final prophet and authoritative interpreter of Scripture. Treating his recorded teachings as an end-time revelation, the movement maintains rigid doctrinal boundaries, discourages questioning, and enforces strict lifestyle rules that create social isolation and spiritual elitism. Its ecosystem of churches, publishers, and media reinforces loyalty to Branham’s authority—often framing dissent as rebellion against God—while splinter groups promote even more extreme beliefs. Survivors frequently report fear-based conditioning, rapture anxiety, and intense pressure to conform. Though smaller today, the Message’s theological DNA—prophetic absolutism, authoritarian leadership, and supernaturalism over Scripture—continues to influence parts of Pentecostal, Latter Rain, and modern Charismatic movements.
